Reserve Geriatric Education Center (WRGEC) funded by
the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources
and Services Administration (HRSA).
The WRGEC is one of six geriatric education centers funded
by HRSA in 2003 to develop innovative training programs
that address the needs of frail older adults in the event
of a natural disaster or exposure to weaponized biological,
chemical, or radiological agents. The geriatric education
centers at New York University, University of Kentucky,
Saint Louis University, Baylor College of Medicine, and
Stanford University are working collaboratively with the
WRGEC to produce a variety of educational approaches to
this training.
The Western Reserve Geriatric Education Center is a consortium
of nationally recognized leaders in gerontology and geriatric
