Delta Omega Alpha Chi Chapter

Founded in 1924, Delta Omega is the honorary society for graduate studies in public health. It celebrates excellent academic achivement, devotion to public health principles and outstanding service in public health.

At the 2004 meeting of the American Public Health Association, the National Council of Delta Omega approved the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health chapter, Alpha Chi. Chapters elect new members each year from four groups: students who are candidates for a graduate degree in public health, faculty members, alumni actively engaged in public health work, and honorary members possessing exceptional qualifications. Election to membership is based on outstanding performance--scholarship for students, teaching and research for faculty members, and community service for alumni. Election to membership in Delta Omega is intended to recognize merit and encourage further excellence in and devotion to public health work.

The charter members of the Alpha Chi chapter of Delta Omega, inducted at the May 14, 2005 spring celebration are the previous years' outstanding graduate students. The charter members are Angela DeJulius, Lana Ilain, Karen Keaton, and Peter Mazzone.
