Teaching Faculty teach in premedical, undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs. The department participates in all phases of the On Doctoring course, which spans all four medical school years. Research Department faculty are engaged in individual and collaborative projects that focus on disease and injury prevention and the efficient and effective delivery of health services. Faculty have an extensive commitment to research done in consortium hospitals and collaborate with clinical faculty in projects consistent with the mission. Service Faculty and staff assist community and governmental agencies diagnose community health problems and plan preventive health care strategies, to develop solutions to problems, and to evaluate outcomes. They speak to community groups about health topics and serve on agency boards and commissions. Faculty have an extensive commitment to consortium hospitals and provide research consultation services to residents, attending physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel.
