The purpose of this website is to provide community-based preceptors with information regarding the Area Health Education Center Experience (AHEC/E).  AHEC/E is a four-year longitudinal activity which supports the population health theme of NEOUCOM's Doctoring course.  Preceptors can use this website to help them prepare to receive students to their agency, understand the goals and objectives of the experience, and review activity guidelines.

The History of MENTOR NEOUCOM

In 2002, NEOUCOM received funds from MENTOR (Medical Education Network Teaching Ohio’s Region III) for the development of innovative technology that would link the College of Medicine (COM) with the medical community with the goal to improve medical education. The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) was awarded funds to explore and develop online community preceptor and faculty development opportunities.

MENTOR NEOUCOM was a website designed to be the gateway for community preceptors to access faculty development opportunities and information, such as online modules, student profiles, rotation information, and upcoming events.
