Faculty in the Department offer training for the M.S. and Ph.D. in a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative environment. A major focus is on developmental, cellular, and systems auditory neuroscience. Graduate training is in association with Kent State University or The University of Akron. Graduate students enroll in one of these universities, conducting their research with Departmental faculty at the College of Medicine. Many graduate students associated with the Department are enrolled at Kent State Universitys School of Biomedical Sciences. They pursue majors in either Neuroscience, Cell Biology, or Pharmacology. For more information visit the School of Biomedical Sciences. Other students are part of Kent States School of Speech Pathology and Audiology, performing basic science research that provides a strong complement to their clinical audiology training. For more information visit the School of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Some departmental faculty train students in association with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Akron. Student research conducted in the Department's laboratories combines computational and experimental neuroscience approaches. For more information visit the Department of Biomedical Engineering. |
