It is the goal of the department to train a new general of physicians who understand and practice biopsychosocial models in their future careers as health care providers. What is the departmental opinion of the appropriateness of the goals and objectives, generally and with specific reference to the education of medical students? Medical students are adults who learn new attitudes and skills by emulation of their faculty. Faculty members teach mostly by role modeling to the students their own values, beliefs, as well as skills in the practice of modern psychiatry and behavioral science.
