WHEREAS, on June 30, 1992, Governor George Voinovich signed Senate Bill 351, which authorizes the Boards of Trustees of state-supported institutions of higher education to assume full responsibility for establishing and administering records retention programs; and
WHEREAS, these Boards of Trustees are required to "apply efficient and economical management methods to the creation, utilization, maintenance, retention, preservation, and disposition of the records of their respective institutions; and

WHEREAS, the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine Records Retention Committee operates under modified guidelines prepared by the Inter-University Council of Ohio; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine must delegate the responsibility for the College's records policy and procedures to the Records Retention Committee; NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine adopt the Records Retention for Public Colleges and Universities in Ohio: a Manual developed by the Inter-University Council of Ohio in 1992, which may be amended as necessary by the College's Records Retention Committee.
