The S: drive is a shared server for the campus to use. You can save files there for others to view, backup your files, and also conserve space on your computer. It is also helpful to use it so if your PC has a problem, you will have your important files saved elsewhere. Please Note: Any file any where is considered public. Please refer to the segment on saving files. Creating a shortcut to the S: drive on your desktop
Moving files to the shared drive If you want to move files from your PC to the S: or P: drives, they can be treated as other files you may move around on your computer. Clicking and dragging the files is the easiest way to do this. For example: if you want to move a folder from My Documents, open the folder. Then open the folder you want to send it to on S: or P:. With the two windows open side by side, click on a file, hold down the left mouse key, and drag it across into the S: or P: drive window.
