Our Mission

The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs is committed to preparing students for the practice of medicine and pharmacy in a multicultural society by enhancing the access, equity and diversity of the student body, faculty and staff with emphasis given to females and students from underrepresented groups in medicine and pharmacy.

The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs will achieve its mission by focusing on the following areas:

  1. Forums and activities to increase the awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity;
  2. Student advocacy and counseling;
  3. Activities that help students adjust to academic and social aspects of their education;
  4. Networking and mentoring opportunities;
  5. Scholarship fundraising; and
  6. K-12 educational pipeline programs.

At NEOUCOM/NEOUCOP, underrepresented minority groups are those individuals whose racial/ethnic background is: African American or Black, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic/Latino, and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.
