Cleveland State University
M.D. Partnership

For competitive applicants coming from Cleveland State University, there is an exciting new option for admission into the NEOUCOM M.D. program.  A new partnership is being formed between NEOUCOM and Cleveland State University (CSU) that will have an emphasis on urban primary care.  Each year, there will be seats reserved in our College of Medicine for highly qualified CSU students.  The benefits of pursuing this type of admission would include:
  • Earlier admission consideration
  • A guaranteed admissions interview for CSU applicants meeting academic criteria
  • Notification of admission status by October 1
    • This is an advantage due to the limited number of seats offered via the Direct Entry M.D. program at NEOUCOM
  • If not accepted through this route, your application may still roll over to regular Direct Entry admissions for consideration
  • Focused urban primary care experiences in the NEOUCOM curriculum
All CSU students who wish to take advantage of this partnership must apply through AMCAS by August 1 as an Early Decision applicant.  You will receive a NEOUCOM Supplemental Application and must complete that by September 1 for the year prior to anticipated enrollment.  These applicants will be considered early decision applicants and will not be able to apply to other medical schools until notified of the admission status by NEOUCOM (no later than October 1).  If accepted to NEOUCOM, the acceptance will be binding.

Additional information regarding academic qualifications, prerequisites and the application process can be found on our Direct Entry M.D. webpage.  Interested students can contact the NEOUCOM Office of Admissions and Student Services for a visit to the Rootstown campus and a meeting with an admissions counselor (1-800-686-2511, ext. 6274).
