Course Objectives: At the end of this Web-based course, participants will be able to:

  • More frequently diagnose depression as a secondary cause of patient office visits;
  • Distinguish different mood disorder types;
  • Effectively use depression assessment tools in the office setting; and
  • Identify treatment options for depression including medications and referral to specialists when feasible.

Intended Audience: This activity is intended for physicians, nurses and other health professionals who have regular access to patients, all of whom must be considered as at-risk for a depressive disorder.

Course Objectives: At the end of this web-based course, participants will be able to:
  • List the objectives of the Pharmacy Patient Care Experience (PPCE) experiential site visits and consider strategies for accomplishing these objectives at your site;
  • Review the NEOUCOP undergraduate curriculum design;
  • Describe the mission and goals of NEOUCOP;
  • List the roles, responsibilities and expectations for preceptors;
  • Evaluate and use tools to assess the learners’ performance and become aware of the components of preceptor evaluation by the learners;
  • Describe the profile of the NEOUCOP student

Outcomes: Each preceptor site will have its own plan for meeting the expectations as outlined for the NEOUCOP Pharmacy Patient Care Experience.  The NEOUCOP Preceptor Training will provide preceptors the opportunity to understand NEOUCOP, its students and the preceptor responsibilities. Learner feedback in the form of an evaluation questionnaire will measure whether learner understanding and expectations have been met.
Intended Audience: This activity is intended for Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Pharmacy Regional Preceptors.
Credit: This activity has been assigned ACPE # 479-000-07-006-H04-P and will award 1.5 contact hours (0.15 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education.

This self-paced, self-study CD course was designed by NEOUCOM and the Institute for Community-Based Medicine and Law for physicians who wish to learn more about:
    1)  the legal intricacies of a medical malpractice lawsuit
    2)  the steps involved in an actual court case
    3)  measures that can be taken to avoid such a lawsuit
This course includes two parts:  a three-hour video of a mock jury trial and a one-and-a-half-hours video of didactic lectures directly related the the mock trial.  While this is one complete CME course, you can complete it in two separate segments.  Part One offers 3.0 category 1 CME credits; Part Two offers 2.0 catergory 1 CME credits.  This course may also help physicians document competency in "Systems-Based Practice/Quality Improvement" for their maintenance of certification (MOC).
