Message from Mark A. Penn, M.D., Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Executive Associate Dean:

Welcome to the Curriculum Transformation information site -- a site created to increase awareness of the curriculum transformation process and to facilitate information flow among all faculty, students, administration, and staff. As a reminder, curriculum transformation officially began October 1, 2003 with an educational retreat. We have accomplished many great things since that event.

In its Final Report of August 2004, the Curriculum Transformation Committee completed its work and laid out the vision and goals for curriculum redesign. The Final Report discusses the overall structure, components and inter-relationships of the new Integrated Steps Curriculum and illustrates these in the curriculum blueprint. I wish to thank the Content Design and Curriculum Support Teams for their wonderful work since August 2004.

The Curriculum Transformation process is now in the implementation phase. Clint W. Snyder, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Medical Education, oversees this process with the Office of Medical Education. Following my comments, Dr. Snyder outlines this phase and the information and resources available on this web site.

I trust this site will enhance your knowledge regarding the exciting educational innovations at NEOUCOM. The multiple talents of our faculty, staff and students have been indispensable to this process. To the many individuals who have been contributors to Curriculum Transformation, I extend my deepest admiration and thanks for all that you do for NEOUCOM.

Thank you for working together toward "great".

Mark
