Past Awardees Annual Selection Timetable
The first 2 awards listed below were established through an endowment from the Dr. and Mrs. Stanley W. Olson (Charter Provost) and is named for Robert A. Liebelt, Ph.D., M.D., Charter Dean, and E. Jay Wheeler, M.D., Ph.D., Charter Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; and Stanley W. Olson, M.D., Charter President, and Charles V. Blair, Charter Vice President for Administration and Public Affairs, College of Medicine.
Liebelt/Wheeler Award for Faculty Excellence -- honors a faculty member within the consortium who has demonstrated exemplary performance as a faculty member. Areas of evaluation include, but are not limited to:
Teaching - current in content, capability to transmit information effectively, and personal interest in the students' learning;
Research and Scholarly Accomplishments -- evidence of creativity and competence in research and utilization of this research for the students' benefit;
Professional Standing -- invited memberships in honorary societies; post-doctoral experiences; demonstration of exemplary patient care, clinical skills and mentoring; and
Service to NEOUCOM -- administrative and committee service that promotes the educational and scholarly programs of NEOUCOM.
Olson/Blair Award for Administrative Excellence -- honors a faculty or staff member within the consortium with a senior administrative appointment in either an academic or service area. The award is given for outstanding administrative leadership demonostrated through (1) initiative and innovative techniques including the ability to motivate and supervise; (2) make critical judgments; and (3) contribute to the betterment of NEOUCOM.
Outstanding Faculty Research Award -- honors a faculty member within the consortium who is an outstanding investigator. This award recognizes distinguished research and focuses on nationally and internationally recognized excellence and productivity in research. The individual recognized should have contributed substantively to his/her field of research interest.
NOMINATIONS MUST INCLUDE
NEOUCOM faculty, staff and colleagues may annually nominate qualified candidates for these 3 special awards honoring the achievements of faculty. Nominations must include: (1) a letter of nomination that provides evidence of and establishes the candidate's qualifications for the award; (2) current curriculum vitae; and (3) any other substantiating information.

Selection: Three separate award committees are convened annually and are advisory to the President in the selection of the award recipient. Membership includes Faculty Council members, medical students, junior and senior investigators, administrative staff, and are chaired by the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and the Associate Dean for Research respectively.
