E-PORTFOLIO
An electronic faculty portfolio went "live" July 1, 2007, for the Rootstown campus faculty.

This is an easy-to-use, web-based tool for importing, entering, editing, searching and reporting the academic work of NEOUCOM faculty.  Because an academic portfolio is such a critical asset for today's faculty, it will be an important benefit to promote faculty skills, contributions and expertise/interests.

In a community-based school, it is expected that the e-portfolio will be a highly valued service for both the Rootstown and many geographically-dispersed physicians and pharmacists.

COM clinical faculty undergoing reappointment review during 2007-08 will be encouraged to begin using this tool for reporting their activities.

Watch for future updates

STRATEGIC INDICATORS DOCUMENT (SID)
In 2006, a Task Force developed a Strategic Indicators Document (SID) in response to an initiative launched by President Lois Margaret Nora, M.D., J.D.  “to create a process and an instrument that will define, within a generally understood format, the work that faculty do and the quality of that work which will result in data that will be available to constituencies who should have access to it.”

The SID FORM was piloted during 2006-07 and identifies overarching strategic indicators that are based on three major areas of faculty effort:  teaching, service, and research/scholarly activities.  These indicators are NEOUCOM specific, reflect the values and priorities of NEOUCOM faculty, and will provide the basis for reliable and easy reporting in these areas.   DEFINITIONS correlating with the SID were developed to help with its completion.
