Thank you for your interest in the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, a vibrant community of students, faculty and staff dedicated to highest quality patient care, excellence in education and innovative research. The College of Medicine focuses on a unique program that begins with our admissions process. Whether you enter NEOUCOM through our unique, accelerated Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine (B.S./M.D.) program or as a direct entry student, you will be immediately immersed into our integrated learning process. At NEOUCOM, medical students and pharmacy students learn together in many courses so that they can learn to respect and understand each profession's expertise and value. NEOUCOM is also unique in its use of existing regional hospitals and healthcare facilities to create a "community-based" College of Medicine. In this process, students have the ability to forge relationships with many first-rate health care facilities and physicians that will benefit them later in their career. This community-based training also ensures that students interact with patients throughout all four years of study so they are confident and well-equipped to move on to a residency placement. Research is an important aspect of the College of Medicine. We are a founding member of the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron, which is positioned to become one of the leading medical and biomaterial research institutions in the nation. We also have internationally-acclaimed medical researchers on our faculty roster who focus on skeletal biology and tissue engineering, auditory neuroscience, community-based mental health and cardiovascular health research. Please contact us to learn more. Sincerely, Jay C. Williamson, M.D., C.P.E.,
