Research Interests:
As an undergraduate student in the field of Biotechnology, I was fortunate to be exposed to a wide range of subjects that spanned the potential application and future prospects of biotechnology. This initial exposure to the subject of pharmacology had developed in me an interest to learn more and delve into the vast prospects of pharmacology as a subject of research. My work at the prestigious Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (Cochin, Kerala, India) in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department gave me my first opportunity in understanding the basics of the kind and variety of research involved in this field.
My acceptance to the Ph.D. program in Pharmacology at NEOUCOM has realized my dream to work as a researcher and work in the field of cancer chemoprevention where my contribution would serve in the better understanding of the disease of cancer which is so prevalent. My work at NEOUCOM will relate to my understanding and learning of the animal models of liver cancer. The next step will involve designing experimental protocols for the evaluation of chemopreventive candidate agents as well as learning cellular and molecular tools in order to understand the underlying mechanisms of the action of chemopreventive agents under the mentorship of Anupam Bishayee, Ph.D. I greatly look forward to work at NEOUCOM, as this prestigious organization will enable me to finally become an efficient contributor to science and a teacher to those who wish to add to our existing understanding of science in the future.
