Q: Where can I find journal articles on my topic?

A: The library does subscribe to electronic journals. These can be found in the NEOLINK catalog by clicking on Journals @ the Library: http://www.neoucom.edu/library/journals/index.htm. Q: I went to school at Youngstown State/University of Akron/Kent State and they were OhioLINK members.
Will I have the same privileges at NEOUCOM?

Ans: Yes. NEOUCOM is also an OhioLINK member. You will need to register at the NEOUCOM Circulation Desk to obtain library privileges for NEOUCOM.

Q: How do I request BOOKS that the library does not own?

Ans: Library staff can initiate an interlibrary loan of a book that is not owned locally, or through OhioLINK. Before requesting an interlibrary loan, check the NEOLINK catalog and the OhioLINK catalog to see if affiliated hospitals, universities, or colleges own the item. If so, you may request it online from the catalog page for that item. If it is not owned by an OORMIC affiliate, or another OhioLINK library, you may fill out an Interlibrary Loan form in the library or online from the OORMIC Home Page by clicking on Requests : Book Request OORMIC does not charge you for an interlibrary loan, however, if the owning library charges for the books, the charges are passed on to the patron. This does not often happen. Please keep in mind that there are 3 time frames for interlibrary loans:

    • 1-3 days to receive items owned by affiliated hospitals
    • 3-5 days to receive items owned by a university or college in Ohio (OhioLINK)
    • Longer than 5 days to receive items from any other sources.

Q: How do I request ARTICLES from journals that the library does not own?

Ans: If you have determined that NEOUCOM does not own the journal title that contains the article you need, be sure to check the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center (EJC) for the electronic journal title. If you do not locate the journal title in either NEOLINK or the OhioLINK EJC, an OORMIC staff can initiate an article request for you. You may fill out a form in the library or online from the OORMIC Home Page by clicking on Requests : Article Request OORMIC does not charge you for an interlibrary loan, however, if the owning library charges for the article, the charges are passed on to the patron.
