The S: drive is a shared server for the campus to use. You can save files there for others to view, to backup your files and also to conserve space on your computer. It is also helpful to use it because if your PC has a problem, you will have your important files saved elsewhere.

Please Note: Any file any where is considered public. Please refer to the segment on saving files.

Moving files to the shared drive

If you want to move files from your PC to the S: drive, they can be treated as other files you may move around on your computer. Clicking and dragging the files is the easiest way to do this. For example: if you want to move a folder from My Documents, you would open the folder. Then you would open up the folder you want to send it to on S: With the two windows open side by side, you would click on it and hold down the left mouse key and drag it across in the S: drive window.
