Be prepared to provide the following information: 

  • Go to http://www.ohiolink.eduu/cgi-bin/whereami.pl .   On the results page you will find
    • The IP address assigned to the computer you are using.
    • The status of the IP address with OhioLINK.
    • The browser type and version.
  • What database are you searching?
  • How did you access the database?
    • From a list provided from the library's home page?
    • From a record within the online catalog NEOLINK?
    • From a list/index presented on the OhioLINK home page?
    • From a record within the OhioLINK Central catalog?
  • If you are retrieving unusual search results or results that are different from what you expected
    • What information did you enter to begin your search?
    • Describe your search strategy.
    • What limits did you apply to your search?
    • What outcomes did you expect?I
  • If you receive an error message when attempting to do a search
    • What keystrokes (as closely as you can determine) did you enter?
    • What is the error message?

All of the above information is needed for a reference librarian to help you with your searching problems.
