The Ocasek Medical Library provides Loansome Doc services to NEOUCOM Faculty and Staff.

Requested articles should be posted on the web in 1-3 business days. Requested articles filled by non-consortial institutions may take up to 7-10 business days. If you have an urgent request, please call extension 6593.

We charge at cost recovery rates. If we are not charged, you will not be charged. If we are not able to fill your requested article without a fee, you will be contacted to be sure you are willing to pay the holding organization’s fees. These fees vary between $10.00 and $20.00. However, there are instances where the fee may be substantially higher. This type of request may take up to 10 days to fill.

Loansome Doc users must agree to:

1) Pay all costs associated with obtaining the requested items from non-consortial institutions.

2) Comply with copyright restrictions regarding "fair use."

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, US Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. (37 C.F.R. 201.14)

The Ocasek Medical Library reserves the right to periodically review the use of this service and change its policies and price structure, as needed. You will be given 30 days notice prior to any changes.
