The School of Biomedical Sciences at Kent State University offers the Ph.D. degree to students in the Skeletal Biology Research Focus Area.  Training of students occurs both the campus of NEOUCOM as well as at Kent State University.

A central course for students in the SBRFA is "Integrated Skeletal Biology".  This course approaches bone biology from molecular to organismal levels, and that is co-taught by the skeletal biology faculty.  In addition, students in skeletal biology may also take the Microscopic and Gross anatomical sections of  the integrated Human Development and Structure.  This course which is taught in the medical school, and covers human gross and miscroscopic anatomy, as well as human embryology.  Furthermore, depending on a students’ interest, there are courses on mammalian diversity, comparative anatomy, and the comparative method.
