Personal Advising is oriented toward growth. Personal advising provides you with a safe space to explore topics that may be interfering with you reaching your potential in professional training and your personal life. In advising, we endeavor to work as a team to help you develop an awareness of personal concerns and learn the skills needed to address challenges in a constructive way.

Personal Advising is confidential. Advising records do not become part of your academic record and are kept according to HIPAA guidelines.

Personal Advising is for many different issues. You might wish to seek help in deciding on a career direction, improving study skills, developing study strategies, or improving testing skills. Also, you might desire support in coping with a personal crisis or in dealing with a wide range of issues. Concerns students bring to advising include: worry and anxiety, sadness, self-esteem, sexuality, identity, family conflicts, eating concerns, substance use/abuse, or relationship issues.

Personal Advising services are available for students. Dr. Rajini Poth is the Personal Advisor. Dr. Poth is your referral source for therapists and psychiatric care in your community. Meetings and referrals do not become part of your academic record.
