                • The Practice of Medicine Team, led by Dr. Elisabeth Young is developing an outcome-based, clinical curriculum for Steps 4 and 5 of the Integrated Steps Curriculum.  This curriculum development model defines a successful, competent medical school graduate based on the six competencies identified by the ACGME (2003): patient care; medical knowledge; practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skiils; professionalism; and systems-based practice.

This Team began to critically asses the current curriculum in terms of competency based goals and objectives in early 2006 and will work throughout the next several months to make recommendations for integration and change by identifying necessary additions, modifications, and consolidations in the clinical curriculum.

Implementation of the Team's outcome-based, integrated clinical curriculum will commence in August, 2007 with the Class of 2009.
