Janice Spalding, MD
Student Health Coordinator

Dr. Spalding is a northeast Ohio native and a 1987 graduate of NEOUCOM. She completed her Family Practice Residence at Akron General Medical Center, serving as chief resident her third year. Dr. Spalding served as an assistant director at Barberton (Ohio) Citizens Hospital Family Practice Residency and has been in private practice in South Carolina and Wisconsin. Her special interests in family medicine include obstetrics, women's health, and adolescent care. As Associate Director at St. Elizabeth's, Dr. Spalding is responsible for the medical student clerkship, and is particularly involved with the areas of the curriculum pertaining to her interests. She and her husband Rob have two children and enjoy many outdoor activities such as biking, camping, canoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Students are encouraged to make appointments to see Dr. Spalding by using the online calendar system.  Students may stop by the Health Clinic (A-122), but those with appointments will get priority.

To view the Student Health Services calendar, go to DOCS. 

  1. Click the calendar icon at the top right hand side
  2. Click the “Calendars” tab
  3. Click the “Subscribe” icon
  4. Type in Student Health Services then click the Search button
  5. After the results are retrieved, enter a check mark next to Student Health Services
  6. Click the OK button

To make an appointment, go to DOCS. 

  1. Click the calendar icon at the top right hand side
  2. Under Current Calendar, select Student Health Services from the drop down menu
  3. Click the New Event icon at the top left hand side
  4. Enter your name next to Event Title
  5. Enter the date you wish to see Dr. Spalding which must be a Monday
  6. Enter the time you wish to meet with Dr. Spalding between 8am-11am or 12pm-1pm (make sure you put the correct “am” or “pm”)
  7. Enter the time increment of 00 hours and 15 minutes – appointments available for 15 minutes increments
  8. Type Student Health Services next to "Invite Other Users or Resources"
  9. Click Invite
  10. Click OK

Dr. Spalding will be able to see who she has an appointment, but to protect your privacy, no other student will be able to see her appointment with you – the appointment will show on the calendar as “busy.”
